About this venue
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Curtis Hall is surrounded by a 45-acre arboretum created by Frederick Law Olmsted, landscape architect for New York City’s Central Park. The “hall” is the original music ballroom of the 1893 Cyrus Curtis estate, "Lyndon". The capacity for dining and dancing is 200. Beyond the handsome wrought-iron entrance gates is a vintage setting of rolling hills, two ponds, an original pergola and 50 varieties of trees. Located in Wyncote, Cheltenham Township, Curtis Hall is just five miles from Center City Philadelphia.

Beautiful Venue, But Disappointed
Curtis Arboretum was a breathtaking venue and the perfect backdrop for our wedding day. From the moment we arrived to the final dance, everything looked and felt magical. Our guests raved about the food, the grounds, and the overall experience. However, we did experience several disappointments that left us, as the bride and groom, feeling a bit forgotten. We missed out on key elements we were especially excited about, including the Seoul Kitchen station during cocktail hour and gelato chipwiches. While our guests enjoyed them, we never got to try either. The chipwiches were advertised as butlered to the dance floor, but never came out. After trying to get information from the coordinators, a bridal party member ended up making a tray himself and bringing it to us. We also didn’t receive several passed appetizers, the harvest table, or any table wine service during dinner. VIP drink service was inconsistent as us and our parents rarely received drinks from the staff. Dessert was served without notifying the emcee, so many guests (including us) missed it entirely. We only had the ceremonial bite of our wedding cake and didn’t get to enjoy any of the dessert stations. Sadly, the top layer of our cake, meant to be saved for our anniversary, was placed in a car staying overnight and ended up having to be thrown away. That tradition is now lost to us. We’ve shared our honest feedback with the venue and were met with a polite “thank you, we’ll share this with the staff,” along with a pitch to book another event. While these issues didn’t ruin our day in the slightest, they did impact our experience as the couple. Future couples: advocate for yourselves and confirm all promised services in writing to ensure you get what you’re paying for!! Curtis Arboretum is a beautiful venue, and we’re grateful for the memories, but we hope future weddings receive more attentive service for the couple at the center of it all.
Sales Pitch Central
We had our wedding at Curtis Arboretum and unfortunately the experience was quite disappointing. From the beginning, the communication style felt very impersonal - it was like we were just another number to them rather than a couple they wanted to help create our dream wedding. There were constant sales pitches and it seemed like everything was included in the package, but then we ended up having to pay extra for so many additional costs. While the venue itself is beautiful and our guests raved about the food, we felt that the staff didn't really go above and beyond to make our day special. For example, we ordered 600 crumble cookies as a late night snack but there were a ton left over that we never received - we were told the leftovers were given to the staff instead. Overall, the experience felt very transactional and we didn't get the personalized, attentive service we were hoping for on our wedding day.
Beautiful venue with great staff
We cannot thank the JAM team enough for making our wedding day absolutely flawless! From start to finish, their energy, professionalism, and attention to detail blew us away. Our venue coordinator Michele was our advocate throughout the planning process and has the most joyful presence, bringing such a positive vibe to the entire day. We were able to fully relax and soak in every moment knowing we were in the best hands with Michele! Our families are still raving about the service. Huge shout out to the bartenders and servers who kept everything running smoothly and still found time to dance and enjoy the moment with us. The entire JAM team truly worked like a well-oiled machine.
A Picturesque Garden Venue!!
Curtis Arboretum is everything we were looking for in our wedding venue!! I was amazed and in awe the first time we saw it in person, & continued to be every time we went back. From the ceremony space under the picturesque pergola, to the detail in the music hall ceiling, this venue is one of our dreams. I immediately loved how our day would flow perfectly, moving from the lawn ceremony area to cocktail hour in the garden, to dinner & dancing in the connected tent & hall. Not to mention the getting ready suites, and the entrance under the stage!!! Curtis has the whimsical garden feel we wanted, with classical, intricate, beautiful architecture that makes the whole area feel like a palace. This space truly is so unique & special for a wedding that we couldn’t find anywhere else!
