My name's Meg and I'm an elopement & intimate wedding photographer based in Sonoma County in Northern California. When my husband and I started planning our wedding day, we knew we wanted something very different than a traditional, cookie-cutter wedding day that centers on performance. We wanted an experience that was intimate, sentimental, and relaxed. And that's exactly what we created! We kept the traditions that made sense to us, and scrapped the rest without a shred of guilt.
I specialize in helping couples craft deeply meaningful, intentional, and authentic wedding experiences. Let's create your celebration based on the ways that are the most aligned with how you want to experience your dream wedding (whether that's a 2-day event in the mountains with your 15 closest people, sunrise to sunset just the two of you, or anywhere else our mutual imaginations take us). Working with Meg was a dream!
When we got married originally, we already had ideas of how we wanted our 10 year vow renewal to go. Fast forward to 10 years later (and several sessions with Meg already in the books), we knew we couldn't do this idea without her! When we first emailed Meg, she was already on board and so game to jump into the crazy idea of not only a sunrise photoshoot in the dessert but also a walking wedding on the Vegas strip and a club bus. Nothing seemed to phase her. When we got to planning, Meg was so helpful in keeping us keep on track and checking in with ideas or backup ideas. Once the vow renewal was said and done, Meg had all of our photos back to us in under a week (!!) and oh man, did she nail every single one! We can't even imagine picking just one favorite. Meg is the only photographer we could have imagined using and are still in awe that she choose to work with us on it! To this day, it feels like a fever dream of an event, and having Meg there to document it made it even more of a dream.
Best elopement / micro-wedding photographer ever!!
Working with Meg was amazing and I would certainly recommend her to anyone looking for an elopement or small, intimate wedding experience! She gave us a ton of guidance that helped us plan the perfect weekend, from recommending vendors to finding STUNNING locations. She made us feel super comfortable throughout the day and the final wedding album looks AMAZING. We're so happy we chose to work with Meg!
A Redwoods Fairytale & A Coastal Dream
From the moment we met Meg, we immediately knew she was the perfect fit for us. Our initial consult call just felt so different compared to the other photographers we had met with previously. Meg took the time to get to know us as individuals and as a couple, and invested so much of her time and energy to help us dream up our perfect day. Honestly, we weren’t really sure what we wanted in our elopement outside of being in nature; we were really overwhelmed. Then, Meg provided us with so many useful resources like a comprehensive guide on every possible thing there is to know about elopements, had us fill out detailed questionnaires to understand our vision, and crafted a detailed timeline to keep us on track on our special day. Meg even did extensive research on specific photo locations based on our vision and then helped us refine our timeline to ensure it met all of our needs. She even came to our AirBnb the night before our big day to scope the property and calm our nerves. In the process, she found the perfect spots for our first look and small ceremony. Meg went above and beyond in more ways than we can even articulate (and this was all just with the planning phase)! The day of our elopement, Meg was more than just a photographer; she was a calming presence, a confidante, and a friend. She made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera that we forgot she was even there at times. We laughed, we cried, we danced, and Meg captured it all with an intimacy and authenticity that left us speechless. When we received our photos, we were absolutely blown away. Meg had not only captured the big moments, but also the tiny details that made our elopement and relationship so special. The way the sunlight filtered through the redwood trees, the way she captured us on top of the ocean bluffs feeling like we were on top of the world, the look in our eyes as we exchanged vows, the gentle touch of our hands - it was all there, preserved in stunning detail. Meg is not just a photographer; she's a storyteller and a master of her craft. She captured our elopement in a way that exceeded our wildest expectations, and we will be forever grateful for the beautiful images and memories she helped us create. Meg Cooper is the BEST
Meg is truly one of a kind. I met Meg at my best friends wedding in 2022 and immediately fell in love with her. When I got engaged in September 2023, I knew I needed Meg there to capture my big day. When we began the process, it was so easy to talk to Meg about what was important to us, what we hoped to capture, and our concerns (my husband hates photos and was worried about everything!). Meg was kind, compassionate, and understanding and truly worked with both of us to alleviate worries and ensure that we were both captured at our very best. On the big day, Meg was part of the crew. She was calm, cool, relaxed, and absolutely perfect. She kept us on schedule and made sure we took all the photos we wanted to, she was fun and made sure we laughed and relaxed. She found the most beautiful spot for our first look and made sure we had a lot of time together just the two of us before chaos started! For the ceremony and our group shots - it is literally perfect. Meg perfectly captured the beauty of the Russian River and the joy the permeated our big day. I love our wedding shots so much because you can truly see how much love there is. I cannot say enough about Meg - she is a genius at what she does and makes magic with her ability to keep you relaxed on such a stressful day and capture your beauty and joy. She even stayed into the late night dancing to capture our outfit changes, which are some of my favorite shots! We loved our time getting to know Meg and having her there. I truly cannot recommend Meg enough - she will not disappoint!
