So here's the tea... I'm a wise-cracking, extroverted Capricorn who excels at corralling your rowdy family for photos and charming Aunt Carol, the self-deemed professional iPad photographer. Ever since I was little, huddled on the couch with my five siblings rewatching The Lion King, I knew that I wanted to be a storyteller. Growing up in a creative household, I studied a wide range of arts before settling on filmmaking. I envisioned in my head that I would be the next Spielberg, but after shooting my first wedding in 2013 all my plans changed.

I first started in this industry as a filmmaker and transitioned to doing weddings after shooting my first one in 2013. Because of my background, I approach each wedding as if it were a film and make sure your photos have the best lighting, angles and that you and your partner feel comfortable being in front of the camera.

    AMAZING. Maya was so fun and mad the day a total delight. She captured moments of our day so authentically. The photos are exact memories and they are stunning. We got sneak peeks the very next morning after the wedding and were just obsessed. We absolute LOVED working with Maya.

    Maya Papaya Pictures was an absolutely amazing wedding photography team to work with. From the very beginning, Maya’s communication was outstanding, she was so on top of every detail, ensuring we had everything we needed and validating any worries or concerns we had along the way. Our wedding gallery exceeded every expectation, capturing our special day in the most beautiful and authentic way. Maya was not just a photographer, she was truly a lifesaver. She kept me calm and present amidst the stress and chaos, and somehow made my husband, who hates getting his picture taken, feel completely comfortable, relaxed, and even have fun with it! She also made sure that every special, sentimental moment we had carefully planned into our day was captured flawlessly. That means the world to us, especially now, as both of our grandmas have since become very sick.
