Authentic wedding photography for intentional couples in the Hudson Valley. Based in Garrison, NY I specialize in documenting candid moments while blending natural light with artistic off camera flash techniques, which I use to highlight both the natural setting of a wedding and special moments between you and your loved ones. From scenic venues to intimate ceremonies, I document emotion-driven wedding stories and real connections with care and empathy. My calm, grounded presence helps you feel at ease in front of the camera. I guide you through the planning and deliver timeless photos that bring you back to how your day felt for decades.
We begin by getting to know each other so that your photos fully reflect you and so that you feel more comfortable on your wedding day. As we progress through your planning process we work together and develop your timeline so that all of your favorite people and moments are photographed. On your big day I am always there but never noticed to allow you to truly be in the moment. When it is time to pose, I use simple yet creative prompts because your photos should feel natural and like you. Your photos will feel like authentic memories and will be treasured for a lifetime since I When I have free time I love to travel, brew beer, hike and run.

Matthew Rigby Photography Review
Matthew Rigby Photography is the best of the best and is unmatched in professionalism and true passion for capturing the perfect moments. Over the last few months, I had begun my process of looking for the right photographer to help me perfect my dream proposal for my girlfriend of 7 years. Having no experience in looking for photographers, I sent out inquiries to many local ones. Within an hour of sending these out, I received an email from Matthew who asked to set up a zoom meeting the next day. After jumping on the call, it was evidently clear that Matthew shared my vision of creating a great proposal and was willing to help in any way possible not just as a photographer but also as a proposal planner. Over the next few weeks, we talked almost daily about different plans and eventually settled on one that seemed best. Being unfamiliar with the venue I planned to propose at; he even met me there a week prior to do a walk through of the entire property, so I was prepared for the big day. With weather jeopardizing the proposal, Matthew had come up with plan A, B and C to ensure the day was still special, despite the rain. The weather ended up holding out and the proposal went even better than planned, thanks to Matthew. Less than 24 hours after the proposal and our photo shoot, Matthew sent us our photo album so we could share with friends and family. The photos came out unbelievable, and Matthew helped us capture a moment we will never forget!

From start to finish, Matthew was more than just our photographer, he was our calm, creative mastermind planner and an incredible artist. As funny as it is, he doubled as a wedding planner, he provided us a list of vendors he had worked with, and we ended up hiring our DJ and make up artist from his references (AND they were also incredible). He also shared relevant wedding planning blog posts and met with us enough times to ensure he knew everything we wanted, and even created a seamless photo timeline so our family knew exactly what to expect. He’s organized, thoughtful, and you immediately feel he’s invested in your day. Then there are the photos. Matthew has the magic touch and is literally an artist. He took places we already love, the ones that made us feel forever young or feel like home, and turned them into something extraordinary. Our engagement photos are breathtaking, and each one feels like it holds our hearts. Thanks to him, not only did everything go smoothly, we actually have keepsakes that are perfect, timeless, and deeply meaningful. If you want someone who handles every detail AND captures your most authentic, beautiful moments, Matthew is the one. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. On our wedding day, Matthew’s eye for light and space was unbelievable. He’d spot soft light pouring through a window and instantly know the perfect angle to place us so the photos felt like something from a magazine. His sense of where to stand, how to move, even how shadows could frame us, turned ordinary moments into beautiful, artful memories. I cannot recommend Matthew enough, I am someone who gets nervous with PDA and trying to take candid photos, but Matthew is the one person who started as a stranger, yet made me comfortable enough to capture beautiful memories with the love of my life that I can now cherish forever. Matthew Rigby Photography was the perfect choice for our wedding. From the very beginning, Matthew’s communication stood out - he was clear, organized, kind, and so helpful, which made the planning process feel easy. On the wedding day, he and the second photographer kept everything on schedule without ever making it feel stressful. They handled family photos so smoothly, and even though we’re not usually people who take a lot of pictures, Matthew made us feel comfortable and at ease the whole time. He has such great instincts and an incredible eye for detail. At the end of the night, he surprised us with a beautifully framed print from our day, which was such a thoughtful gift. We LOVED working with Matthew for our wedding photography! He was so professional, skillful, and caring and was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was incredibly organized leading up to the wedding, making a schedule together with us and answering any questions we had. He helped the day of the wedding run very smoothly and made sure we got all the pictures we wanted. Him and his team were amazing at blending into the crowd to capture every moment without being in the way. Matthew even got some preview photos back to us right after the wedding which we already LOVE! We highly recommend working with him!
