I started photographing weddings in 2003 and eventually left my day job as a designer to do photography full-time, but I’ve never been able to turn the designer off. In addition to photos, I create a few animated gifs from every session. My style is influenced by design principles, architecture, Edward Hopper paintings, plus films by Stanley Kubrick & Denis Villeneuve. While composing I put as much attention into the scene as the subjects. I prefer to cover events solo and do my own editing, posting teasers the next day. I’m based in the Detroit area but cover weddings all over America.

I’m routinely told that working with me is easy, fun, and relaxing. Plus your photos won’t look like everyone else’s. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph a wide variety of weddings, straight and gay, involving various flavors of the world’s religions and cultures: Christian, Muslim, Judaism, Buddhism, Orthodox, Catholic, Atheist, Chinese, Egyptian, Chaldean, Persian, Nigerian, Indian, Pakistani, etc. If your wedding is something I’ve never experienced that makes me really excited.

When searching for a photographer to shoot our wedding, the decision became clear when I happened upon JLBwedding.com; I was specifically drawn to 1. the uniqueness of his artistic style, 2. the way he captures candid, posed, and moody shots, 3. that all photos are delivered in 4 processes, and 4. the amount of detail and professionalism poured into his website. And after a day that we knew would fly by quickly, all we would have left of this incredibly fun and meaningful day would be: photos and memories. One of the best memories (not pictured) was the two of us curled up in bed as we squealed and swooned at the sneak peek reel that Jeffrey posted on social media the very next day. My husband looked at me and said, “you really hit photographer selection out of the park, babe.” We must have watched the reel on repeat at least 100 times that night. We will forever cherish these moments captured so beautifully by JLB and we will recommend him, with unwavering confidence, to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. Seeing our wedding day through the artwork and lens of JLB wedding photography is to take a ride down memory lane right back to July 19, 2025 and to relive the joy, peace, and love that we felt on that day. Not only is Jeffrey competent for the job, he’s also just the right amount of calm, confident, upbeat, and assertive. His direction and his ability to capture the most important candid moments made us so grateful for his expertise. I still can’t get over how lucky I am to have a husband, a photographer, and a couple good friends who said with no hesitation “let’s do it!” when I proposed the wild idea of underwater wedding photos. Working with Jeffrey was one of the very best choices we made for our wedding. From start to finish, he brought a calm presence that felt like an antidote to the natural stress of the day. His energy allowed us to be fully present with one another, never worrying about what was being captured because we had complete faith in him. As a same-sex couple, we cannot overstate how comfortable and celebrated he made us feel. Many photographers default to traditional, heteronormative poses, but Jeffrey understood how to guide us with direction that felt natural, confident, and tailored to us. We are not naturally great at posing, and his clear, precise guidance was invaluable. His artistry is undeniable. He captured it all—the emotional candid moments, the striking editorial shots, the architectural and design details, and even elevated portraits of our guests. These were far from simple photo booth snapshots; they are images our friends and family are genuinely excited to share, print, and frame in their own homes. Beyond the beauty of each photo, his work has a timeless quality. While so many photographers lean into trends, Jeffrey’s images feel classic and enduring, the kind of heirlooms we know our kids and grandkids will cherish. Jeffrey also collaborated seamlessly with our videographer and other vendors, ensuring everything flowed smoothly. He managed the timeline during the first half of the day, which gave us the rare gift of disconnecting completely from our phones and watches. On top of that, his turnaround time was unbelievable. We received a large set of images the very next day, which allowed us to immediately share with loved ones and relive the celebration. And it wasn’t just us who felt this way. Within days of the wedding, our friends and family were texting us unprompted to rave about him. Here are a few of our favs: “BEYOND impressed with Jeffrey. We were beyond fortunate to have selected JLB Photography for our wedding photos. He was an integral part of our entire experience, making us all look and feel like supermodels. He was enthusiastic, upbeat, creative, and very detailed. His commitment to capturing the moment perfectly is reflected in the output of his product. While we have only received our social media reel because our wedding was just last week, it all of our friends and family are stunned by what Jeff has captured. We can't wait to receive the final output. An added bonus, he's a super nice man and the consummate professional. If you're considering hiring him, do not hesitate. Just do it. You will be glad that you did.

My husband and I highly recommend booking Jeffrey as your wedding photographer. He was incredibly professional and helpful, but also very friendly and personable, which made what we expected to be an awkward/painful process (we are both very picky when it comes to photos) one of the most enjoyable and seamless experiences we had with our wedding. Moreover, we loved all of our photos and can use them as art now in our home. What impressed me the most, however, was his ability to capture every moment that I wanted to remember from our wedding day (impressive, given he works alone). It made us very confident in our decision to pass on a videographer. I could go on and on about how great JLB is, but to sum it up, you will not regret booking him -- he was 100% the best decision we made for our wedding day.
