As a lesbian and someone who’s been through the wedding planning process with my amazing wife, I know how powerful representation is — and how much it matters.     Michelle was an absolute delight to work with for our engagement shoot. From our very first interaction, her communication style was effective, kind, and joyful, making the whole process feel effortless. She was so sweet and happy, it was truly contagious and it shines through in her work. We were so comfortable the entire time, even though beforehand I was not happy with my makeup. Once we started shooting, it didn’t even cross my mind. Without even seeing the photos, I was just so excited and knew they were going to be stunning. The quality of her work is truly dreamy and creative - she even brought our vision of having the feel of an early morning in New York City to life, even though we were in Fresno, CA. Her ability to work with us to capture our perfect date idea was impressive, and the resulting photos are breathtaking. We couldn't be happier with the work and passion Michelle showed us during our shoot!

    My wife and I had such an amazing time working with Michelle. Her friendly personality immediately put us at ease and made us feel so safe and seen. Michelle was amazing at helping my wife and I pose ourselves naturally, and getting us to connect in front of the camera with sweet little questions to each other like "What do you love about your partner? Go ahead and tell her." Michelle was also so consent oriented and intentional about asking if she could help pose us and what made us feel comfortable, asking our pronouns, referring to us by name, and overall just creating such a wonderful environment. Not to mention that her skill behind the camera speaks for itself! Michelles mix of film and digital photography, her people skills, and her ability to capture such real and tender moments makes her an invaluable wedding, engagement, and romance photographer and I could not recommend her more highly.

    For any queer couples planning their weddings, do yourself a favor and book Michelle IMMEDIATELY. It was a priority for us to book vendors who worked with queer couples and featured them prominently in their portfolios. We wanted to ensure we were working with people who knew the specific anxieties that come with planning a queer wedding. Michelle not only understands these feelings, she seeks to fill a gap in the wedding photography world. We can’t count the number of wonderful things we can say about Michelle. She is so organized, kind, patient, understanding, and most importantly, a wizard behind the camera. We knew we wanted to book her from the very first consultation. Working with Michelle on our wedding day was an absolute dream. She and her second shooter, Kate, navigated our crazy venue beautifully and kept everyone ahead of schedule (even when certain family members showed up 20 minutes late to a portrait session). One of the most special parts of our day was running around our venue with Michelle after our ceremony for sunset portraits. She knew what shots we wanted to get while still leaving room for spontaneity. We received sneak peeks of our wedding photos mere DAYS later, and are in complete awe of what she captured.     We really can't say enough good things about Michelle. Even for our relatively small, DIY Fresno wedding we knew we wanted to pick our photographer thoughtfully. As a queer interfaith couple, it was really important to us that we didn't have to explain that to someone and risk them not wanting to work with us. It was also really important to us that we get the best photos we possibly could from a seasoned pro who could help us determine what was and wasn't important. Michelle was so clearly that person from the first consult--a booklet of tips and tricks mailed to us, multiple Zoom calls and surveys where she asked us every question under the sun, and a beautiful engagement session all happened before the day of our wedding! We've already seen some of the photos from the wedding, and I am blown away. In addition to all the happiness I expected to have from seeing our wedding day captured so beautifully, I also experienced a deep joy from having my (butch) exterior captured in formal portraits that I've never gotten before.
