Q: How far in advance should we book you for our wedding?

Typically, couples book me about 13 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.

Q: Will you edit all our pictures?

Definitely. All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful. I also offer retouching services like blemish removal and teeth whitening for an additional charge.

Q: How long will it take to see our pictures?

My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 4-6 weeks after your wedding. Within this time, you can also expect to receive a USB drive with high-resolution image files, so you can share the photos with your loved ones and order prints.

Q: Do you have insurance?

I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.

Q: What’s your back-up plan if you can’t photograph our wedding as planned?

In my 12 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.

Q: Do you also offer video services?

Yes, I do offer a video highlight reel of your wedding day. This is NOT to take the place of a full cinematic video that a professional videographer can provide. I do however find that some couples enjoy having the highlights of their day! We do this, and also incorporate some select images too!

Q: Do you work with assistants or other photographers?

Sometimes, I’ll bring one or more assistant photographers depending on the size of your wedding. A second photographer guarantees we capture MORE candid moments while I focus on the key moments of the day!

I do not just bring good gear and a bubbly personality (so I've been told)...I also love to help my couples envision their wedding day! I strive for authenticity & want to showcase YOUR love, YOU'RE WAY. I am here to help plan, make suggestions if you need help too! As a photographer, we wear many hats. I love the moments in between..the quiet moments. The ones most miss.

When I'm not behind the camera, you'll find me on the ocean—sailing and working on my boat along the coast of Mexico. Ashley Shutter Photography was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding day. From the very beginning, she was always responsive to our questions and open to accommodating our requests. The quality of her work was simply stunning and perfectly captured all the special moments of our day. We have multiple photos hanging in our home that always gets compliments. Even when the second photographer couldn't make it, Ashley worked tirelessly to ensure we had every picture we wanted. Our engagement shoot with her was also fantastic. We loved working with Ashley and Travis, this was our first time doing any professional photography. They made us feel so comfortable and our photos reflect that. They were a great vendor to work with and we would honestly use them again for future shoots. We love that the photos do not seem overly edited where the couple is lost in the edit - they capture the shot that really come to life. We created a custom package for our wedding that honestly worked out for our needs and budget, this was a great benefit working with Ashley Shutter. The communication really helped make sure our vision and needs were met. The day of the wedding, they were total rockstars and knew exactly what they were doing.
