Owner of Smudge & Lead Makeup Artist

My name is Amber, and I'm the owner of Smudge. I have been in the industry for 10 years working weddings, editorial, and film. Weddings have been a constant throughout my career and styling brides has been my favorite type of make-up. I love being a part of someone's special day and creating a look that makes them feel like the best version of themselves. In 2018 I started Smudge, a team of on-site hair and makeup artists based in South Eastern CT, specializing in weddings. We're an onsite team that serves all of Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Massachusetts, and beyond. *Now booking 2025 and 2026*

    Kristy and Amber from Smudge made my hair and makeup dreams come true! Kristy nailed my hairstyle — it stayed flawless all freakin’ night despite the heat, which still blows my mind. Amber worked her magic with my makeup and made me feel absolutely beautiful on my wedding day — I’m still getting compliments! Both ladies were so kind, calm, and wonderful to work with from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for a better glam team!

    Amber at Smudge is the absolute BEST! Her makeup absolutely slayed and the entire wedding party got compliments all night long. She listens to your concerns and what you are looking for, takes into account your trial and if you want to change anything, and the makeup was perfect day of!!

    The team was great to work with and very talented! Kristie and Annie showed up on time, worked quickly but thoroughly, made sure everyone walked away feeling and looking good, including the moms. Some additional fees were not clearly stated during an adjustment to my contract, but they were able to clear it all up before I signed and paid. Looked just like my trial, enhanced my groups natural beauty and stayed pristine all night long! I even slept in my hair and makeup after the trial and it looked perfect the next day- that says something!

    Smudge was a dream to work with throughout the whole process. From initial inquiry, through the trial, and to the day-of, they were professional, attentive, and reliable. When we had some extra people wanting services, Amber was so helpful and responsive with updating the contract. Everyone in my party was thrilled with their hair and makeup and it lasted perfectly all day - through humidity, rain, and a LOT of dancing. They kept us on schedule and were able to work with everyone's inspiration - whether it was a bolder look or something more natural. I felt so calm while sitting in their chairs knowing I was in the best hands!
