Welcome to Jamilah Henna Creations. My name is Jamilah, and I am a henna artist located in central Connecticut. I have a love of art and have found a way to channel my creativity into this beautiful ancient tradition. Henna is a natural dye derived from a plant. The leaves of the henna plant are dried and sifted into a fine powder.

I mix the henna powder with lemon juice, cajeput, and lavender oil to create a dark-staining paste. I never use "black henna" which is usually henna mixed with black hair dye. It can cause serious reactions and scarring in up to 15% of people that use it. I also never use store-bought or pre-mixed, imported henna cones as they contain dyes and chemicals.
