About Daphne and Iris Florals
Daphne and Iris Florals
Born and raised in Atlanta, I am a graduate of The Lovett School & UGA. A benefit of mine is the unique artistry I offer no matter the design or budget. We are a small shop and do only 1 wedding a day to give clients 150%. The average client of mine wants a beautiful wedding, doesn't want DIY, and has a reasonable budget between $2000 - $5000. When not in the studio, I enjoy growing wildflower gardens, climbing roses and drying flowers. An avid animal lover with 3 kitties (Delilah, Ebony, Fozzie Bear), I am Mom to a very spoiled German Shepherd named Stella.
I believe listening and understanding a clients' vision is paramount to creating a magical & memorable wedding celebration. Having been a bridal consultant, I understand the expectations & work hard to exceed them. I have over 30 years in hospitality including management positions w/ the #2 largest long distance company, the Ritz-Carlton, & owning a bridal consulting firm. If you are looking for designs that are unique & artful, let's talk! **REVIEWS: Please be sure to check out more REVIEWS on Google & Etsy via my dried flower shop DriedFlowersAtlanta **References available

DO NOT BOOK THIS VENDOR
I’m not writing this out of bitterness. I genuinely hope this helps another bride make a more informed decision. If professionalism, clear communication, and quality arrangements matter to you, I would not recommend this florist. Communication Issues From the first call, communication was difficult. I work in account management and know how communicate professionally, even when issues arise. But conversations with Elaine felt combative and condescending, not supportive. I initially assumed she was just blunt, but the tone worsened over time. When I asked about arbor options and casually mentioned the venue’s faux flowers as a backup, I was sharply told the contract required she be the sole flower provider and that fake flowers were not allowed. I immediately apologized and confirmed we would not use the fake flowers then, but her response was unnecessarily condescending. Later, I referred to “silks” meaning drapes, but she assumed I meant fake flowers and sent an aggressive email threatening extra charges and demanding a credit card. When I clarified, she responded with this: “My mentioning ‘silk’ has always referenced flowers. We haven’t discussed drapes since you are a budget bride… This really doesn’t have to be so difficult, lol :)” I thought that was insulting and unprofessional. Every bride has a budget, but ours was generous. That comment was mean-spirited and completely uncalled for. Product Quality We ordered a lot: bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, centerpieces, arbor and mantle florals, aisle markers, and more. On the day of, much of it fell short. • Bouquets were significantly smaller than expected, I felt very misled. • SEVERAL boutonnières and corsages fell apart, some before the ceremony even started. • The welcome sign flowers were missing. We were told they kept blowing off, though there was barely any wind. Someone eventually stuck a single flower on it, which looked sad and unfinished. Cake Flowers and Vendor Conflict Cake flowers were offered as a courtesy, which I appreciated at first. But she wouldn’t tell me what flowers she planned to use and said she wouldn’t place them, insisting the baker handle it. Our experienced baker said this was highly unusual. She then called the baker directly and reportedly said, “the wedding cake doesn’t matter at all,” which of course upset her. On the wedding day, the baker placed the flowers as discussed, only for the florist to disregard the plan and add more without asking. The baker had to fix it back to what I wanted during our ceremony. Final Thoughts This was by far our worst vendor experience. The florist was reactive, rude, and never took responsibility. She created tension with our other vendors, threatened us over misunderstandings, and the final product didn’t meet expectations. I regret signing with her. That said, our venue (Vecoma at the Yellow River) and baker (Sugar Hill Cakes) were both incredible and handled everything with professionalism and kindness. I’d recommend them in a heartbeat. I just wish I had chosen a different florist.
Response from vendor•May 26, 2025I would like to respond by 1st saying how I am deeply sorry that a bride believes she didn't get 100% from me. I have a lot of pride in my communication skills and professionalism so I would like to leave a just and fair rebuttal. To be clear, there was a lot of communication via texts, phone calls to answer questions and I always responded the same day and many times, within the hour. I need to disclose that she admitted early on that she was "difficult" (see below). OPTIONS: So many options were given for so many things including bouquets, the arbor, and aisle markers. Special attention was given to her bouquet as she wanted callas that her mother had carried. She didn't want roses so I suggested beautiful sweet peas, ranunculus, lisianthus, etc. BRIDESMAID BOUQUET SIZE: I offer a medium size bouquet for $85 in addition to a larger one at $125. My style has never been large and more about design. I want the focus to be on the bride's bouquet. I have posted on Instagram photos of her bridesmaid bouquets. QUALITY: As for florals falling apart, I was onsite for over 2 hours and knew nothing about any issues. Often times a boutonniere that is pinned on by the wedding director may not stay pinned on the lapel and may require 2 pins especially if it is a rose. I have never received any complaint about bouquets. Again, I'd be glad to fix anything onsite and always come prepared. CAKE: With respect to the cake, the baker was aggressively insisting on "what time" I would be done with installing the arbor flowers all for her to get her pictures for her portfolio. I could not commit to an exact time but told her it would be after I had finished what usually takes close to 2 hours to complete. I offered to provide flowers for the cake for free (no big deal) so she can put them on the cake since I could not commit to a time of being done for her photo taking. WELCOME SIGN: It was a very windy day and her sign which did have a flower arrangement on the top, kept falling off the easel onto the ground. I actually made a fresh floral arrangement onsite and placed it next to the guest sign in book which was next to her sign. SILK FLOWERS: With regards to silk, I do have a policy which prohibits one to use flowers from another source which is very common for all florists to state in contracts. Her plan when it got closer to her date was still to use the venue's silk flowers for the arbor even when I had repeatedly told her of my policy. It was at this time that I felt the need for a credit card on file. I am truly sorry if this offended her. Obviously there was confusion as to what "silk" meant and don't understand why she felt I was referring to the drapery for the arbor when it was always about the flowers. APOLOGY FROM BRIDE: To begin, the bride admitted to being difficult. These are her own words where she apologized (from a text): "I promise I'm not trying to make things difficult for you. I know that my indecisiveness has made things more difficult for you and I'm sorry for that. " Honestly, she didn't have to apologize as I understand it can be so stressful to be a bride.
