About Cafe Rachel Cakes and Bakes
Cafe Rachel Cakes and Bakes
One of the most memorable days of your life, and there is a dessert at the center of it. The photos, the dress, and the food will be remembered. I want to give you the best experience possible with the best from scratch cake or desserts. Cutting into something which will undoubtedly spark joy for years to come.
Everything is baked from scratch (except oreos), hand mixed and assembled by me. I get to know my couples on a personal level and pride myself of keying in on specific details which will tie the dessert and event together in special ways. If you can dream it up, I will do my best to accomplish it.

Unreliable, Unprofessional, & Stressful Experience
I found Rachel through the Zola wedding website. She responded quickly to my initial inquiry and seemed very polite and willing to help, even though our wedding was only three weeks away. We discussed flavors, size, and design in detail. I requested a simple two-tier half-naked vanilla cake with strawberry mousse filling and a small gold drip on opposite sides of each tier—nothing elaborate, no topper. I also confirmed a delivery date of November 22nd at 4:30 PM, which she agreed to without hesitation. I paid the full 300. Six days before the wedding, I called to ask basic questions about storage and temperature. During that call, she informed me—very abruptly—that she would be delivering it at 3 PM instead of the agreed-upon 4:30 PM because she had another wedding that had booked earlier. When I reminded her that our contract stated 4:30, and that no one would be there at 3 because the ceremony was off-site, she told me, “Well, if I can’t deliver it at 3, you can find someone else to make your cake.” I explained that if she had a prior commitment, she should have mentioned that before agreeing to the time. Instead of acknowledging this, she simply asked again if we could “just agree to 3.” I reluctantly agreed and arranged for someone to be available. The morning of the wedding, she texted politely saying she switched times with her other bride and would deliver at 4:30 PM after all. However, 4:30 came and went. At 5:30—an hour late—my wife called her, and she said she was “almost there.” When she finally arrived, she was visibly shaking and holding chunks of cake in her hands. She told us the cake had fallen over inside the box but was “still servable.” I told her I was not comfortable serving something she had just been handling with her bare hands after being in her car. She offered to go fix it “in the back” with more buttercream so “no one would know.” By this point, I already knew I didn’t want it. Even before the accident, the cake did not resemble the design I requested. The presentation was messy and unprofessional, the gold drip was wrong, and overall the cake was not something I would ever serve at a wedding—especially after seeing pieces of it in her hands. She did refund me the full 300, and thankfully one of my guests was able to rush out and buy a replacement cake from H-E-B that looked much better. But the entire experience—from the unnecessary attitude about delivery-time, to the overall ugly appearance, to the ruined cake—was extremely stressful and absolutely not something anyone wants to deal with on their wedding day. I would not recommend hiring Rachel for a special event.
1000000/10 – Absolutely Incredible!
We cannot say enough amazing things about Cafe Rachel! From day one, working with Rachel was an absolute dream. Her communication was quick, clear, and so friendly—she answered all of my (many!) questions with patience and expertise. Let’s talk about the tasting box… it was genuinely one of our favorite parts of the entire wedding planning process. Like, seriously—can we sign up for a monthly subscription?! Every flavor was perfection, and we knew right away we were in the best hands. When our wedding day came, the cake was stunning—truly a work of art. And as beautiful as it looked, it tasted even better. Our guests are still talking about it! If you’re looking for a baker who is talented, kind, and passionate about what she does, run, don’t walk, to Cafe Rachel. 1000000/10 recommend!
Response from vendor•Nov 18, 2025Thank you so much for your kind words Shelby! Your wedding was gorgeous and I am honored to have been a (small) part of it.Wedding Cake / Sourdough Bread
My introduction to Cafe Rachel was her through her thoughtful and generous offer to share her talent by creating a cake for a wedding in a not so normal situation. Her beautiful cake pulled the event together in so many ways and beyond that, it was absolutely delicious! I have since had her sourdough breads and they are by far better than any others I've tried. Thanks for sharing your gift Rachel!
Purchased a cake for my babygirl.
Cafe Rachel Cakes and Bakes was an absolute pleasure to work with for our daughter’s half month photoshoot . She had fast responses, was reliable, and was incredibly kind throughout the entire process. I got in contact with her in hopes she’d be able to make a cake with a late notice & she was able to make it happen! The cake she created for us was exactly how I wanted it - it tasted soooo good and looked absolutely beautiful. My daughter loved her smash cake & kept digging for more. I'll definitely keep her info for any future dessert needs we have. I highly recommend Cafe Rachel Cakes and Bakes.
