In 2016, Cedar Grove’s owners, Kevin and Julie Claus, were sitting on the porch of Stillwater Lodge with some friends, gazing upon their 65-acre property. With 6 cabins and 2 lodges running smoothly, it was time to start planning for their next adventure. They talked about their 3 children growing up on the property, and reminisced on how so many milestones were celebrated. With all their kids growing up, they talked about them finding love and how wonderful it would be to see them married on the property where they shared so many memories. That was the day the dream began! Kevin quickly grabbed a napkin and feverishly started scribbling sketches of a large lodge that could hold all of their friends and family, celebrating the futures of their children. In true Claus fashion, they did not let this vision pass them by, and got to working on the lodge right away.

Venue considerations

  • Venue feels large for events with small guest lists
The Haven Crew did such a great job helping us plan our wedding & helped us keep it running smoothly day-of. They answered all of our many questions during the planning process. The venue itself is beautiful, too! Even though it rained, and we had to have our ceremony under their covered patio, the surroundings were still gorgeous! We and some of our family were even able to rent cabins on the property, and those were beautiful and cozy as well.
