We had our ceremony and reception here and it was beautiful. There is a huge parking lot that made it easy for our guests who wanted to drive to do so and for our limo to pick us up. The entry way is spacious and has a security guard up front for the entire night. There was a beautiful staircase but also elevators for our guests with mobility issues. There were bathrooms both upstairs and downstairs as well. The venue itself is so beautiful we really needed minimal décor for it. There are awesome lights, barrels that were used as tables, and so much character to the space. Our bar package was through them as well. We hesitated when we saw the beer list (no IPS, craft, or seltzer options), but it ended up being perfect. Their open bar high-end option had plenty of other choices of liquor and wine our guests could also choose from and had a great time. The team did a great job – they set up all of the tables and chairs exactly like we wanted, did a great job running the bar, and gave us exactly what we needed. They were very kind and flexible with us as we asked questions throughout the process. Would highly recommend getting married here!

We hosted our wedding at the Taylor Mansion in Newport, KY, and stayed there with 11 guests over three nights—it was truly the perfect venue and home for such a special occasion. The mansion itself is a stunning historic property built in 1837, and staying there felt like stepping into a piece of history. Yet, it’s fully updated with modern amenities that made our stay incredibly comfortable. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, ideal for cooking for a large group, and the generous counter space made buffet-style meals easy to serve. The living areas are cozy and inviting, and the bathrooms are absolutely luxurious—especially the main bedroom’s shower with its multiple jets, which felt like a spa experience. There was plenty of room for all our guests to spread out and relax, and the Taylor Mansion team was incredibly responsive and helpful. When we had a minor issue with the disposal, they had someone out the next morning to fix it—no stress at all. As a wedding venue, the Taylor Mansion exceeded every expectation. Their team handled all the setup, including table layout and chair selection, and even brought in a cleaner before the event to ensure everything was perfect. They were available throughout the day for any questions or last-minute needs, which gave us peace of mind to truly enjoy the celebration. We held our ceremony on the first-floor balcony, which offered beautiful views and a romantic atmosphere. The old office was transformed into our dance floor, and the built-in sound system made it easy to play our Spotify playlist for the ceremony, dinner, and dancing. One of the standout features was the vintage wooden bar with a brass foot rail—it added so much character to the reception space. We chose Kate Catering, one of their preferred vendors, and the food was absolutely phenomenal. Their staff was professional, friendly, and helped elevate the entire experience. The first thing we knew we wanted out of a venue was a small size - we didn't want more than 60 people in attendance. We picked this location initially with the guest count being are only criteria, but we were almost immediately surprised by so much more. The view, the gorgeous interiors, and the rich history were all things that finally led us to choose this as our venue for our wedding. But, above all else, was the venue owner - Roger Swonger. He went above and beyond to make our day as special as it possibly could be, and with his help, our wedding day went absolutely perfect. With just one planning session, and a couple of tours, Roger was able to guide us through the perfect day. He communicated well with all of the vendors, was able to provide an amazing wait staff, and bartender, and even thought of the small details - placing some flowers on our small wedding cake, putting a pen by the guest book, etc. Most importantly to us, as a now husband and husband duo, was finding a venue that was accepting. This was Roger to a tee - not only did he treat us with kindness, he guided us towards other LGBTQ friendly vendors as well. With his support and guidance, we had a wedding that completely surpassed our exceptions of what a wedding could ever look like in an area like Kentucky. I don't think there is any universe where we could have had a better wedding, and this is all thanks to Roger, and all thanks to having our wedding ceremony at Wiedemann Hill Mansion.

Today, Walt’s, under new ownership since 2012, continues to welcome people with a unique equestrian theme by preserving Walt's rich history and traditions. There are many photos of the late Melton's prized thoroughbreds. Walt's also showcases original exposed log walls and a cozy stone fireplace in the main dining room. Our venue began in 1928. The historic building was home to The Mt. Lookout Theater. People have been entertained in the space for generations. I cannot recommend the Redmoor enough! We had our one year anniversary reception here with 120 guests and everything turned out absolutely magical. Karrikin Spirits was the perfect venue for our rehearsal dinner. The space was very cool and modern, with an industrial vibe that we loved. The value was great - we got a lot for what we paid. The day of staff was super friendly and attentive, and the drinks they served were amazing. There was quite a number of shifts for the coordinator person so we did have a bit of confusion around the timing of the dinner, but ultimately the team pulled through and made it a super special evening for us and our guests. Overall, we were really pleased with Karrikin Spirits and would highly recommend them for any wedding-related event.
